I am Nainsi of Shuklanpurwa, in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. In our community, while there are generally no major issues, we encounter difficulties during surveys conducted by information entrepreneurs. Some people are reluctant to share any information or provide necessary documents.
However, everyone is cooperative when it comes to attending meetings, whether they are related to COVID-19 precautions, menstruation, or education.
Previously, girls in our area were hesitant to discuss menstruation-related problems, but now they openly share their issues. We have provided information about reusable pads and distributed them. During the pandemic, we distributed masks and provided information about COVID-19.
Through my center, we have provided various types of information to the community. We conducted training sessions for girls and women about menstruation and emphasized the importance of cleanliness and good nutrition during periods. Now, girls feel comfortable discussing menstruation not only with us but also within their families. Additionally, through digital means, we informed women and girls about reusable pads and provided them according to their needs. We also offered photocopying services at our center to save people from unnecessary travel.
