Community Information Resource Centre is a project which aims at setting up digital data house for communities across rural post in India and South Asia.

2Digital Empowerment Foundation is one of the key partners of INTEL India under its World Ahead Program. Under this program, DEF is supported by INTEL India to set up ICT enabled Community Information Resource Centres. The focus areas of these centres are livelihood generation, education improvement, health focus, and rural development, all through ICT tools. The core target groups are children, youths and women.

DEF is gradually setting up Community Resource and Information Centres across the country as ICT hub in villages and local communities. These centres are aimed as information, communication hubs dealing with products and services in this regard serving the needs of the local communities in education, health, livelihood, public service delivery services and others.

One important purpose of these CIRCs is to fulfill the content needs of local communities through online and offline facilities. The first CIRC is being set up in village Mansoorpur Village in Vaishali District of Bihar State in India. Currently another CIRC is in process for Ranchi in Jharkhand and the next to be set up at Rajasthan.
