The 5th edition of eNGO Challenge Awards will take place under the larger umbrella of Prayag 2017. This year, eNGO Challenge opened its nominations for all grassroots organisations, irrespective of their work domain and whether or not they use digital tools to reach out to grassroots communities. This year, the platform received 331 nominations from eight South Asian countries. After the initial screening, 157 of them reached the intensive Jury process, and 62 have been shortlisted as Finalists. The comprehensive screening process has brought some brilliant initiatives into focus and number of grassroots organisations forward.
Winners will be announced and felicitated under the umbrella of Prayag at Surajkund Grounds, Faridabad, on on February 25, 2017. On this day, Prayag will introduce the audience to all its 62 Finalists from six South Asian countries. These grassroots innovators will also be participating and exhibiting their initiatives in the Mela ground to celebrate their story and the changes they have been able to bring about.
Further, a category-wise Knowledge Hub session is scheduled where all the finalists to engage with Prayag. The Knowledge Hub sessions are envisioned as interactive and participatory spaces where exchange of ideas or initiatives would take place, and collaboration would happen through knowledge sharing. The objective of this exercise is to add value to all the Finalists’ efforts. Thus, there will be eight category-wise parallel sessions, where one of the Finalists will moderate the session, and encourage other Finalists in the category to add some value/views.
