W4C and Open Spectrum Summit
The socio-economic development of the North Eastern Region of India, consisting of Assam,
Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim has been one
of the key areas of concern for the Indian government. Union Minister of Ministry of MSME,
Mr. Virbhadra Singh, has recently urged the Indian government to give adequate focus to the
North Eastern Region . The recently re-elected Chief Minister of Assam, Mr. Tarun Gogoi, has
declared that, “I will see that the small and medium enterprises ( MSME) sector comes up in a
big way and the agriculture sector gets priority and the rural economy is boosted”.
