Kalle Bhai – A man of many stories
In the high mountains of Katkodh Village, Narendra Nagar Block of Tehri district of Uttarakhand resides an old elderly woman named Gabli Devi.
On the day of the field visit of the Soochna Seva Team, they happened to meet Gabli Devi, who was differently abled and very old. Gabli Devi was facing hardships and difficulties at one time or another and she could not work because of her limited functionality.
Earlier she was receiving financial aid from the government in the form of pension, but since few months the aid ceased to reach her for unknown reasons. This worsened her already hard life.
When the Soochna Sevaks were informed about this problem, they straightaway drafted and sent a letter to the social welfare department to get Gabli’s pension restored. They helped her in arrangement of all documents and even got her aadhaar card made. This resulted in a quick action from the department’s end and her pension got restored which she now receives every month and timely.
The impulsive determination and effort of the Soochna Seva Team brought back stability and happiness to the life of a distressed elderly woman.
