Soochna Seva recently migrated to MeraApp from online MIS, which they had been using since 2014. MeraApp is an android-based application, a one-stop answer to all government schemes and entitlements. It is a medium to reduce rural poverty and contribute in rural economy. Apart from this, Soochna Seva team organised a camp to process applications for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in West Champaran. A total 80 women benefitted from the yojana. Soochna Seva team in close coordination with Hindustan Petroleum made sure that benefits reach to the people bringing a huge relief to the households.
MeraApp has been designed to increase and improve the access, delivery and quality of public schemes. It is an application which has database of welfare schemes of both central and state governments across 9 states in 3 different languages (English, Hindi and Odiya). The app also records beneficiaries’ data and suggest potential market to the user. A capacity building training was also undertaken by team Soochna Seva in Guna, Madhya Pradesh to habituate Soochna Sevaks and Soochnapreneurs on the utilisation of MeraApp like how to add/resize photos, how to register and link a beneficiary for the government welfare schemes et al. There will also be formation of committees in the panchayat area within 6 months which will comprise people from all walks of life.
Apart from this, the Soochna Seva team helped 80 applicants to reap benefits of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. The scheme was initiated by the Ministry of Natural & petroleum Gas to provide LPG connections to women Below Poverty Line (BPL). The beneficiaries were from three different panchayats namely Baghi Sakwani, Sapahi and Manchangwa. The camp in the presence of local MLA addressed the beneficiaries, assuring them of future help as well. The team made sure that the forms are properly filled and proper documents are submitted to them by the beneficiaries for further processing. The team in close coordination with the gas agency Hindustan Petroleum, rigorously followed all applications until the benefits were delivered to the households bringing a huge relief.
