SoochnaPreneur have often proved to be the source of help and the most necessary contact in the hour of need for many across India apart from serving the role of information providers. They have truly served the purpose of bridging the gap between provision of benefits and access as the SoochanPreneurship program was designed to deliver. But DEF’s logs are replete with many stories of these SoochnaPreneurs who have shown new light to those in search of it.
One such recipient was 38 year old Babita Devi who has been working as a farmer in her ancestral land in order to financially support her family and lends a hand to her husband, a local vegetable seller. One of her two children is studying in school while the other is in college. Like many families, they faced a lot of hardships during the pandemic and owing to the scarcity of money, she struggled to pay the education fees on time.
Things took a turn when the local SoochnaPreneur registered her name for an E-Shram card which is loaded with nearly fifteen vital Government benefit schemes, the important ones being provision of pension of Rs-3000/- (minimum) after attaining the age of 60 years and a complete insurance of Rs- 50,000/ for any mishappening up to 60 years.
Following this, Babita became more alert about the schemes that would help her and as a result, she helped her daughter continue her education by applying for a scholarship of 10,000 rupees per year which was later granted. She is hopeful that her son would also avail a scholarship soon.
