Goma Devi Newar
My name is Jagdish, hailing from Rewara Mahiya village in Barmer. In our community, the primary challenges include a scarcity of water within the village and inadequate medical facilities, as there’s no major hospital nearby. To address these issues, I initiated lending small loans to women, empowering them to start their own businesses. Many women, previously occupied with household chores, have now ventured into entrepreneurship after receiving information about loans. Additionally, I have distributed masks and provided menstrual pads during the pandemic, educating women about menstrual hygiene and encouraging them to use hospital-grade pads, significantly benefiting our community’s health and well-being.
