Pramod, DEF’s project executive, has initiated the Smartpur Digital Library in Ghazipur to provide access to higher quality education to all students.
I run a Smartpur digital center in Ghazipur which provides services to the community across the pillars of government entitlements, financial literacy, digital literacy, support in financial inclusion and tele-health consultation.
As an individual who has been deprived of standard education, I always envisioned a dream where I can be a stepping stone for the quality education of deprived students. The dream was to open a library for children. I wanted it to be a haven for kids who could not complete their education due to financial constraints. About a year ago, we began contemplating the idea of establishing a library at our Smartpur center.
We reached out to people in the village, asking for support with books. Many individuals came forward through various means—some donated books directly, while others sent them via courier. Some even invited us to collect books from their homes. Additionally, numerous children also contributed by bringing books to the library themselves.
Some children lent a helping hand in building the library itself and continued efforts led to the establishment of the library. The library now boasts of a collection of books, eager children, and a conducive environment for learning.
Our vision extended beyond just physical books. We encourage children to participate in online classes, motivating them to embrace digital learning opportunities. Smartpur Digital Library not only provided access to knowledge but also facilitated engagement in the digital realm.
We invite you to join us in celebrating this journey towards empowering rural education. Your thoughts and feedback are invaluable to us. For suggestion and books donation please write to me- pkv9614@gmail.com
