“There is so much negativity in our world, but the Manthan Digital Festival shows there is also soc much positive energy. This field is changing, there is always so much to learn. Instead of talking about the ordinary people – Aam Aadmi (Common man), we might be able to speak for India as a country of extra-ordinary people and that will be the true accomplishment of our generation.”
Salman Khurshid, Honorable External Affairs Minister, Ministry of External Affairs, stated while congratulating winners, who gathered to receive Manthan South Asia & Asia Pacific Awards 2012 held at India Habitat Centre on 1st December, 2012.
The 9th Annual Manthan Award attracted 471 valid nominations from India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and some of from countries such as New Zealand. Of these, 221 projects were selected to compete in 16 categories. Seventy-four of them were made to finals, out of which 33 were recognized as winners.
The 2012 edition was a one day event, which brought together people from completely different walks of life at one place. The one-day event was packed with 7 Parallel Sessions and 5 Summits along with participation of 110 organisations at Digital Bazaar. This year, Manthan Award witnessed over 1000+ participants during a day.
