Empowering girl students from poor families via online scholarship
In November 2013, Digital Empowerment Foundation in collaboration with United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation and Indian Heritage Cities Network launched the e-Heritage project across India. It is a capacity building programme to empower cities to create a digital presence of their local heritage. Currently the project has been launched in four cities across India, Old Delhi, Pune, Shekhwati and Chanderi.
Taking forward the e-Heritage project, Digital Empowerment Foundation has also worked on launching a mobile application for the same called ‘M-Shahjahanabad’. At present the application is being launched for Old Delhi. It will allow users to navigate through the streets, lanes and by lanes of Shahjahanabad. Users will also be able to upload their own content and comments. This mobile application is available for android phones only and can be downloaded free of cost.
