The biggest challenge we faced was that women and adolescent girls were hesitant to speak openly. They weren’t sharing their experiences during the pandemic and weren’t communicating effectively. After we explained things to them, they began to open up and started talking about how they couldn’t wash their sanitary pads outside because there were always people at home. The greatest problem for us was their shyness. As they grew more comfortable, the women and girls began to speak freely about their needs and questions during the pandemic, such as what to eat and how to take care of themselves.
