The idea to build a smart village (Smartpur) shapes up holistically when the viable stakeholders come together for over-all development purposes. On February 03, 2019, in Nuh, a similar visit was held by Rotary Club where they conducted a free eye health camp in association with City Hospital and Nuh’s Eye Care Center. On February 24, 2019, in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur, a career counselling camp was organised. Many youngsters in the rural area have vague to almost zero understanding of the importance of career counselling, let alone attending any session. The counseling camp was first-of-its-kind.
In the eye camp organised in Nuh, free medicines and spectacles were made. Apart from this an announcement was made in the camp, that 54 screened patients would be operated free of cost for cataract operation. There were 254 villagers who were benefited during the one day camp. In the career counseling camp, there were professors from Jamia Hamdard and Manipal University, from the mass communication and political science backgrounds who addressed the youth in an interactive platform. The event was further utilised to organise DEF’s ongoing campaign #NoMissingVoters at the location; under which the eligible citizens who are left out from the voter list are being included via fresh registrations. This is a country wide campaign and is being undertaken at all Smartpur locations. Ghazipur’s ten centres are gradually pacing up, and the entrepreneurs at different centers not only try to compete with each other, but having incepted with the value to grow a digital ecosystem, try and support each other for the community’s development.
