To provide a validated identity to NGOs, eNGO, which has already digitally empowered more than 5,000 grassroots organisations, is feeling honoured to officially launch the .NGO domain for not-for-profits in India, on July 23, 2015, at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The eNGO web service package is designed in a way to provide services at a minimal cost that is sustainable and a low-cost solution for grassroots organisations.
the eNGO programme is an initiative of Digital Empowerment Foundation and is the official partner of the Public Interest Registry for the launch of .NGO domain in India. Till date, over 5,000 NGOs across 10 countries in Asia and Africa, and 18 states of India have already been provided with their own websites and online presence. DEF has conducted more than 100 workshops across Asia and Africa, which has impacted more than 18,000 people.
Dot NGO domain was launched by the Public Interest Registry on May 6,2015. Dot NGO is a global directory of all authenticated NGOs worldwide. More than 1,500 NGOs have already registered for the portal.
