Join us in an adventurous journey where two teams (DEF and Vodafone Foundation) are collaborating tto create an epic revolution. This journey begins on 09th March 2013 travelling from Delhi to Mumbai passing through five major states. We will be accompanying the three musketeers, ‘Laura Turkington (Director, Vodafone Foundation of India), Carina Deegan (from Vodafone) and Sunita Chaudhary (first female rickshaw driver in Delhi)’, who are steering red rickshaws to meet extraordinary women all across the passing routes of the journey.
Red Rickshaw Revolution team will be travelling for nine days to meet some incredible women who against all odds have made significant changes in their community. Using innovative technology, this entire campaign can be experienced online at www.redrickshaw.in. We will raise funds for three dynamic NGOs which are working to empower many more – Apne Aap Women’s Collective (AAWC), Breakthrough and Corp India. This will lead to gateway for new women entrepreneurs striving to make a difference in society. The Vodafone Foundation has pledged to match up to INR 85 Lakh of donations.
