Held at the Punjab University campus, the workshop saw a mix of around 75 participants representing NGOs, panchayats and academicians taking keen interest in the intensive sessions on ICT tools, skill development, CSR engagement and funding opportunities, among others. The workshop focused on various issues and challenges in the development sector, and discussed how information communication tools and a participative approach can help.
Among the eminent speakers at the workshop were: former CII chairman and incumbent Managing Director of Indian Polymer Industries Amirbar Singh; Director of Human Resource Development Centre at the Punjab University Karamjeet Singh; Director of ICSSR at the Punjab University Raunki Ram; Head – Department of Public Administration at the Punjab University Prof. BS Ghuman; and Deputy Director of CSR at CII Rajwinder Singh. Together, they enlightened the participants on how to have a strong rooted presence and give new dimensions to their respective works.
Towards the end of the workshop, eight NGOs chose to immediately “go online” with a .ngo domain under the eNGO programme.
