“I never imagined that I could become a digital warrior for my community. Today, I am not only earning but also helping others access essential services. If I can do it, why not others?”
With these powerful words, Soochnapreneur Business Mitra Rakhi Biswas reflects on a journey that has transformed not only her own life but also the lives of many women in her community.
In Jitpur Palpara, under the Tehatta block of Nadia district, a focused bootcamp organized by the Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) became a turning point for 30 Rural Women Entrepreneurs (RWEs). Led by Rakhi herself, the initiative aimed to strengthen women-led enterprises by supporting formalization and improving access to essential digital and government services.
For many participants, this was their first step into formal entrepreneurship. Through the bootcamp, 29 Udyam Registrations and 17 Trade Licenses were successfully completed—opening doors to new business opportunities, financial inclusion, and long-term stability. Alongside this, participants also received support for PAN card corrections, voter-related services, and banking assistance, making the camp a one-stop solution for both entrepreneurs and the wider community.

At the center of this transformation stands Rakhi Biswas—once a homemaker dedicated entirely to household responsibilities, and now a confident digital leader and trusted Business Mitra. Her journey reflects the power of opportunity combined with determination. Today, she is not only enabling access to services but also inspiring other women to step forward, learn, and lead.
The impact of this initiative goes beyond numbers. It has strengthened the role of the Soochnapreneur as a vital link between communities and digital services—bridging gaps, building trust, and ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital age.
Through efforts like the Udyamini-RWEP initiative, rural women are gaining the tools, knowledge, and confidence to formalize their enterprises and build sustainable livelihoods. More importantly, they are becoming agents of change—driving financial independence, community development, and a more inclusive digital future.
Rakhi’s story is a reminder that empowerment begins with a single step—and when one woman rises, she brings her entire community forward with her.
