In the quiet village of Nowadih, nestled in the Baghmundi Block of Purulia district, a powerful transformation is underway—one driven by knowledge, technology, and the determination of rural women to shape their own futures.

An advanced training session conducted through innovative Learning Management System (LMS) tools recently brought together 26 Rural Women Entrepreneurs (RWEs), each eager to expand her digital horizons. For many, this was not just a training,it was a gateway into a world of information, opportunity, and self-reliance.

Using the LMS Skill Bot module, participants explored essential topics such as media and information literacy, basic artificial intelligence, governance, and digital literacy.

Concepts that once felt distant and complex are now becoming part of their everyday understanding, empowering them to confidently engage with the digital world.

At the heart of this initiative is Renuka Kuiry, a dedicated Soochnapreneur Business Mitra (SBM) from the tribal Manbhum–Singbhum region. As both a facilitator and a community leader, Renuka guided the session with passion and purpose, ensuring that each participant could learn, question, and grow.

The impact of the training was immediate and inspiring. Participants shared their excitement about not only using LMS tools but also independently exploring digital platforms for new information and opportunities. The introduction of bot-based learning has made technology more accessible and less intimidating, helping build confidence and adaptability among the women.

For Renuka, the journey is deeply personal. Reflecting on her role, she shared,
“Digital Empowerment Foundation is not only implementing the UDYAMINI program in our area, but also strengthening the collective power of rural women. It is bringing women together, bridging the digital gap, and building a self-reliant ecosystem for a better digital future in our community. I am truly grateful to DEF for nurturing leadership and enabling us to lead change.”

This initiative under the UDYAMINI RWEP program is more than a training effort—it is a movement toward empowerment. By equipping rural women with digital skills and knowledge, it is paving the way for informed decision-making, financial independence, and stronger community leadership.

In Nowadih, the digital divide is steadily narrowing and in its place, a new generation of confident, connected women leaders is rising.
