The foundation of DEF was laid on the primary objective to provide ‘access’ through digital means. Starting from the Community Information Resource Centre (CIRC) model, which has evolved over the years, DEF has successfully set up centres in rural communities for sustainable growth. The locally managed centres have bridged the perspectives from a beneficiary point of view as well as the management’s view.

CIRCs have successfully launched, hosted and collaborated with various new initiatives as it has managed to earn trust and attention of the locals. Digital Excellence Centres have morphed into alternative schooling systems where students and elders eagerly visit to learn and experiment digital and soft skills, integrating them with their life skills.
