In my community, many people are skilled in making traditional toys and crafts, either by hand or using tools like a spinning wheel. Introducing electronic machines in this digital age could partially address some of the challenges faced by my community. In the past, poverty was rampant in my village, leading people to mortgage their lands or fields to moneylenders for immediate cash when faced with emergencies like illness. To combat this, we women initiated a collective effort. We formed groups and started saving ₹5 each week, eventually bringing all village women into the fold. We then educated them about Digital India, mobile apps, and how to identify and prevent fraud calls. I’ve been actively inspiring my community to embrace digital advancements. I encourage them to explore new discoveries through YouTube, learn how to operate Paytm and Google, and recognize and avoid fraud calls. I also educate them about the various symbols on smartphones and their functions.
