Manthan Winner Saloni Malhotra Launched Women Security Site Safecity

Given the recent events in Delhi and the fact that many of us have been harassed on the roads in practically every city in India, Manthan Award Winner, Saloni Malhotra, Founder of Desi Crew has launched the website, Safecity (http://www.safecity.in/) where women can come and map where and how they are getting harassed. The idea behind launching this initiative is to keep eyes and ears to the cops and to each other. Through this initiative, the information tracking helps

• An individual can check safe time to go a certain place for example if anyone is going to Kandivili by train, you can always check if 7pm onwards the incidents around the station are more or less than other times of the day and make a decision. Say the station before Kandivili is less prone to harassment; you could get off there and take the bus/ cab rather than get off at a high alert zone
• Cops can monitor and decide at what time of the day and where more security is required
