I am Minakshi, I belong to Thuribari village in the Baksa district of Assam. In my village, the foremost concern is access to clean drinking water, along with environmental pollution and health-related uncertainties due to a lack of knowledge. I initiated innovative programs aimed at fostering self-sufficiency among community members. I established a home center that provided training and skills development opportunities, especially for women, to nurture reliability and independence. While agriculture is the primary economic activity in Thuribari, I diversified into non-farm enterprises, particularly handloom weaving. Over the past five years, I have achieved remarkable success by marketing traditional creations at local markets and festivals, establishing a sustainable source of income for myself and my community. Beyond financial gains, my aspirations extend to learning new innovative ideas to further my knowledge. In doing so, I aim to empower women and also promote sustainability and fashion.
