I am Mintu Mani Saikia, I am from Kahuwatoli Village in Nagaon District, Assam. In response to a pressing challenge faced by our community, I recently opened a tailoring shop to empower local women. At my center, ten women are currently honing their tailoring skills under my guidance. My goal is to foster economic independence and self-reliance among these women, enabling them to support themselves and their families. Beyond tailoring, I strive to serve as a resource hub for community members, assisting them with administrative tasks and legal procedures whenever needed. I am passionate about supporting aspiring entrepreneurs, particularly women, by imparting essential skills and creating an environment conducive to their success. In Kahuwatoli, where farming is the primary occupation, many residents seek additional avenues for income generation. Despite the limited access to urban amenities, our community’s thirst for education and self-improvement remains strong. Recognizing this need, my peers and I are working towards establishing a local computer center. This center will provide essential computer education to community members without the need for distant travel, opening up new opportunities for skill development and economic empowerment. We are striving to create a village where individuals have access to education and skill development opportunities right within their own community.
