The ongoing global pandemic has led government agencies to refocus on community healthcare and hygiene.
Individuals as their social duty should maintain and uphold the prescribed health norms to protect not only their lives, but also of others. The Covid-19 Relief Warriors at Digital Empowerment Foundation’s Smartpur Kollegal center in Karnataka, have taken up the cause of providing masks and protecting community members.
The team has been manufacturing masks at economical rates to the people and organisations. Not only are these sturdy and of good quality, they are a green alternative to the traditional masks and put no strain on the environment.
Currently, five women Digital Warriors are working tirelessly to ensure that there is no shortage of this commodity at the crucial stage of the covid-19 curve.
These masks have been made available at local chemist shops in the area as an alternate means of livelihood.
Rural India is a treasure house of economic potential, and this initiative would be a small step in tapping into that potential and boosting the local economy. Furthermore, the women are also making 100 masks for free distribution to ensure that no one is left unarmed in this fight against Covid-19, due to financial constraints.
