My name is Priyanka Paswan, and I reside in Bundapani tea garden, located in the Alipurduar district of Assam. In our community, timely information is a luxury. To accomplish any task, individuals have to travel 12 kilometers away. Whether it’s filling online forms or making photocopies, the nearest facility is quite far. Even basic courses like computer training are inaccessible, requiring a journey of more than 12 kilometers. Consequently, government schemes fail to reach the people efficiently, and many individuals have incorrect documents without even realizing the errors. There are numerous areas where people encounter difficulties in transportation due to the lack of available means. To address these challenges, I personally visit community members to understand their problems and strive to find solutions. Collaborating with the Panchayat Pradhan, I aim to provide accurate information and assist in obtaining correct documents for the residents. The establishment of the SoochnaPreneur center by DEF has been instrumental in bridging the gap between government schemes and the community, facilitating access to various services such as Aadhaar enrollment. I aspire to undertake a digital literacy course to ensure that children no longer need to travel beyond 12 kilometers for essential education and training opportunities.
