#DIGITALCITIZEN is a week-long photo series initiated by DEF. Through this campaign we shared stories from urban & semi-urban spaces showcasing lives touched by technology. The campaign represents an enormous opportunity to introduce significant and lasting positive changes and how rapid penetration of mobile/computer access in particular has resulted in considerable improvements in the lives of the poor in both rural and urban contexts. #DIGITALCITIZEN highlighted the real stories and people’s skills using technologies in their daily lives. It threw light on the desires and aspirations of people with technology. It emphasised on how ICT is becoming the largest distribution platform of providing public and private services to millions of people in rural and poor areas. The campaign story indicates bridging the digital divide and providing equitable access to technologies.
