My name is Rachana Devi, and I hail from Bagahi Kumbhapur in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh. I would like to highlight some of the issues prevalent in my village. Previously, many women in my village were illiterate and unable to perform various tasks or understand societal matters due to lack of education and awareness, especially regarding mobile phones.
However, there has been a positive change in recent times. We now have several educated women in the village who are knowledgeable about mobile phones and other matters. They actively participate in community activities, work in private sectors, and provide assistance to others. They are proficient in using mobile phones for various tasks like watching videos, using WhatsApp, browsing YouTube, sending messages, typing, listening to music, and sending photos. Those with advanced networking knowledge can perform a wide range of tasks.
I personally want to share my story. When I received support from a center, including a laptop, printer, and mobile phone, it brought me immense joy. I informed everyone in the village about my work with a development organization. I opened a center where I provide services like photocopying and form filling. I encourage people to visit my center for these services instead of going to the market, and I also educate them about various government schemes and initiatives.
