My name is Sarita Devi from Bokaro, Jharkhand. In Barai Khurd, our community faces numerous challenges including a lack of good schools and hospitals. Recognizing this, I formed youth and women’s groups four years ago. These groups have empowered our community economically, with the women’s group accumulating substantial savings. This has reduced reliance on external financial aid and enabled members to invest in their own ventures. Moreover, increased female participation in local governance has led to more inclusive decision-making. Our efforts have also encouraged more children to attend anganwadi schools, improving overall education quality. Through these initiatives, we’ve uplifted our community and empowered its members to address challenges effectively.
