Soochna Seva Kendras have been established across five districts in five states to act as a one-stop hub for people who want to seek information about government schemes and entilements.
One day, when Dhanna Ram, a 58-year-old tailor from Rani Gaon panchayat in Uttar Pradesh, heard about Soocha Seva from one of his neighbours, he decided to pay a visit to the centre to gather information about some government schemes.
After Dhanna Ram shared information about his life, the team suggested them various schemes he could apply under, including the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
“I have three sons and none of them take care of us. They do not contribute even a penny to help us run our home. In such a scenario, what will happen to my wife after I die? Thanks to Soochna Seva, I now have a bank account and an insurance cover of Rs. 1, 00,000. I have also decided to open a bank account for my wife so that we can avail the benefits in future,” he says.
