SoochnaPreneurs are not just entrepreneurs who provide information for a basic fee, but social entrepreneurs who ensure that the people from their communities live with a sense of well being. They are constantly on the lookout for new schemes that would be beneficial for people around and put their best efforts to provide such information to those in need, thus bridging the gap in access and availability.
Budhani Devi is a housewife with two daughters from Gola Ramgarh, Jharkhand. Both the daughters are married and live in different districts with their husbands. Budhani Devi’s husband is the sole earning member of her family, and have faced numerous hardships in their lives. She used to work on a small plot of ancestral land, growing vegetables and corn for her family members. She previously lived in a muddy house with no basic conveniences, which caused them a lot of difficulties.
The SoochnaPreneur from a nearby centre recommended her to enrol for the “Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana” as she was living in a ruined house and couldn’t afford to restore it. She attended the Panchayat Samiti meeting and registered her name for her new house. Her panchayat Mukhya submitted it to Rajaswa Karamchari, and she soon received a no objection certificate. Her application was then sent to the relevant Block Office Branch.
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is a government initiative to offer affordable housing to the people from the underprivileged community, with a goal of constructing 20 million houses. This plan is also linked to other initiatives to guarantee that all households have a toilet. There is a push to have houses that are eco friendly and sustainable.
So far, she has received 130,000 rupees in three instalments of 40,000 rupees, 60,000 rupees and 30,000 rupees to build her house. Today, all of her family members live in that four-room house, which has ensured safety, health and comfort.
