Team Soochna Seva is all set to blaze the trail for Baseline survey in 5 districts of India. The project aims to address the larger issues of poverty, social exclusion and inequity of marginalised groups through information empowerment on public schemes towards entitlement gains. It looks at promoting and strengthening good governance practice by local administration. The team will start on field activities from May 5th, 2014 and will start with the survey by covering 5 targeted Districts, 25 blocks, 125 Panchayats, 375 Villages and 3000 Households through 25 ICT enabled Soochna Sevaks.
The main objective of the baseline survey is to understand the mind-sets of various communities and final beneficiaries to find out the level of information poverty vis-a-vis empowerment, which helps in targeting the most deprived locations in the first phase of implementation. The survey will be conducted via a responsive mobile app specially designed to make the process authentic and easier.
Soochna Seva seeks young enthusiasts who are willing to make a difference to join the force through its ‘Soochna Seva fellowship program’, which is tentatively scheduled to start from July 2014 where they can work and contribute in grass-root issues through the project. Applications are invited from Guna (Madhya Pradesh), Tehri (Uttarakhand), Barmer (Rajasthan), West Champaran (Bihar), Ranchi (Jharkhand).
