I am Tarana Najmi from Rani Khatanga, Ranchi. The biggest issue in our community is the lack of permission for women to work outside their homes, holding back progress. The primary reason is the lack of awareness. People easily believe fake news and aren’t educated about digital classes. Women empowerment is lacking, with women’s dignity not respected like men’s. Moreover, attention isn’t given to women’s nutrition. I’ve taken the first step by educating women about their rights, reaching them to gram sabha, introducing them to government schemes, and facilitating work for needy women at home. I’m also working on women’s empowerment by connecting them with government schemes and educating them on menstruation and proper nutrition through weekly meetings. I’ve worked on various government schemes, benefiting people such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, pension schemes, Ujjwala Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, MNREGA, ration cards, toilets, Chief Minister’s Animal Husbandry Scheme, providing low-cost computer learning to poor girls, and offering online services through centers, including cash withdrawals, deposits, xerox, and photo printing.
