Smartpur is now emphasizing on the difference which is taking place in the society. There is an inevitable change which can be clearly seen. The Media & Information Literacy Experts visited our Smartpur Tain Hub on 14th November to experience this change. MIL works on certain parameters such as media literacy, news literacy, digital literacy and information literacy. Smartpur gave the opportunity to the experts to witness live examples of those who have worked on and benefitted from such parameters. For information literacy they interacted with the beneficiaries from Menstrual Hygiene Management project by WASH and POSHAN Abhiyaan by UNICEF. We explained them about usage of collateral in both the projects such as POSHAN Abhiyaan cards with all the basic information important for a pregnant women, lactating mothers and adolescents.
Further they had an interaction with the students who were learning digital literacy through the START Tool Kit. They were shocked and amazed to see the Telemedicine kit DOCONLINE in such a remote area.
On the same day Children’s Day was also celebrated across all the 100 Smartpur Hubs as well as Spokes centres by conducting a Cleanliness Drive. The young leaders (children) of the community were trained about Dry & Wet Waste and how its segregation can create a difference in reducing pollution. The best child was awarded with a token of appreciation.
By the end of the visit all the 100 centres connected for a Video conferencing call where Media & Information Literacy Experts from all over the world participated and interacted with the children of Smartpur centres from different regions. They were mesmerized with the Video conferencing call.
